Fun Facts

How to pronounce my name...

Most people don't seem to have any trouble with this, but there are still a few who do, so here you go:

Jaina-
My name is kind of like "Jana", but the "ai" part sounds like the word "rain.
"

How I got my first name...

Remember the movie Star Wars? Well, it didn't just end after "Return Of The Jedi". There is a long list of Star Wars books set in a timeline that takes place during the "years" following ROTJ. These books, brought to vivid life by some of the world's masterful Sci-fi writers, continue the ongoing adventures of the original movie characters and of course, introduces readers to new ones as well. That's where my name comes in. Turns out, Han Solo and Princess Leia eventually get married and have three children: Jacen and Jaina (who are twins), and a few years later, Anakin. So my Mom and Dad named me after this complex and wonderfully exciting character who grew up and lives in the rich, vast universe created by none other than the legendary George Lucas.

How I got my middle name...

This one's easy. My Mom chose my middle name to be Michele in honor of her big sister, Michele Miller (my Aunt). Oh, notice how my Aunt Michele spells her name with only one "L"? I think that's cool, too.

Jaina's room:

Can you tell yet that my room was done with a "Noah's Ark" theme? My Daddy worked very hard to get my room finished in time.

Anita Hutches made this for me. Thanks Anita, I love it!  Yes he does! Just ask my Mommy and Daddy.  Pastor Steve & Carol Summerell gave me this. Isn't it beautiful?

Before Jaina was born (Mom in pre-op):
My Mom just before surgery -she was a little scared and Arlene from church called to pray with her. That helped a lot!

After Jaina was born (in hospital):
Here I am! This is the very first picture ever taken of me.  Mom & me on the day I was born.

A super close-up of me. Sheesh, maybe that's too close, Dad! :o)

Finally home!
I just loved these flowers! And so did Mom & Dad. Thanks to Aunt Marilyn & the Porter family.  My Grandma Johnson & her husband Ed sent me this neat balloon bouquet. I especially like the teddy bear!  Who do I look more like, Mommy or Daddy? :o)
